DDS Listening Session 1

September 17th Listening Session 1 regarding ‘cameras in shared areas of DDS homes’ with the Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services (DDS) from 1pm to 3pm.

**Note there is an additional session on September 23rd from 3pm to 5pm. You should only participate in one of the zoom meetings unless you are helping facilitate or supporting someone.

DDS wants to hear from self-advocates and people with disabilities who:

• Live in a DDS or provider residential group home, or

• May live in one in the future.

What will we talk about?

DDS wants to hear what you think about using cameras in shared areas of DDS homes.

People may have different thoughts and feelings about cameras. Cameras may help people feel safer, but they may also affect people’s privacy, choices, dignity, and rights.

This listening session is a chance to:

• Share your ideas.

• Ask questions.

• Share your concerns.

• Talk about how cameras can help keep people safe while also respecting their privacy, choices, dignity, and rights.

Your voice matters. DDS wants to hear what you think.
